August Prima BAP..

Hi there everyone,

I will keep this short and sweet today as I am madly trying to complete all my scrappy tasks before we head off to Brisbane to have our baby!!! So exciting, can't believe its real, we have been a family of 4 for what feels like ages but I know before long being a family of 5 will feel normal :))) Only another week and a bit at home so lots to do.

But I wanted to take some time out and have a go at Prima's August sketch.  It looked so cool and intriguing to me plus I am trying to use up some of my Prima stash (not sure if I ever will) before the new releases comes out!

Okay here is the sketch which I have turned...

"Friends"

Lots going on here in this layout.  I am just loving playing around at the moment, trying to be brave and try different techniques and mediums.  I have used the 6 x 6 Perforated Dot Flower mask just randomly in places on my background with modelling paste.  Then I used a combination of Twinkling H20's and Pan Pastels in and around my masked area. Such a gorgeous combination.

Love how the Pan Pastels adhered to the Prima canvas pieces.  I also outlined them with a water coloured pencil for more definition.  Lots of stamping too...something I am becoming a little more confident in doing...:)))

My little boys with their cute cousins...:))

Okay I better keep going, Thanks so much for visiting and for your beautiful comments.  I appreciate each one left :)

Inspiration using EP Everyday Eclectic

Hi there scrappy peeps :)

I thought today that I would share with you some layouts I created ummmm....AGES ago using the EP Everyday Eclectic papers.  I can't believe I haven't share them with you.  Anyway, somewhere in the time, my style probably has slightly changed a little but all the same I wanted to post them here anyway.

The layout below was a "just because" page and I actually followed a fun sketch at ScrapFriends for this one. Kinda like the triangle thing happening here!

"Fun"

Love how the Shimmerz adhered to the Hambly transparency. Some cool Rainbow Splendour Chevron strips here as well.

This layout I actually created for Manor House Creations back in March....yes told you it was ages a go!! Love the mix of colours here.

Okay that's all for me today
Till next time

Guest Designer at CSI...

Hello everyone,

Hope you have all had a great week! I am currently in Brisbane today (so this is a schedule post) having my last OB appointment before I head down again in a few weeks to have my little baby.  So excited and can't believe how quickly these last few months/weeks have gone.

Anyway....back to scrappy business...

For the whole month of August, the team from 2Crafty chipboard have been invited to be Guest Designers at the challenge site Color Stories Inspiration (CSI) and on top of that 2Crafty are also one of the main sponsors of the monthly prize at CSI! How awesome is that!

As part of my Resident Guest Designer spot at 2Crafty, I was invited to play along and I decided to have a go at Case File #84 which looks like this..

So this is my layout that I created based on this challenge. I also loosely followed the sketch as well.

The colours are a little different for me but I had fun using Kraft as my base...don't think I have pulled out a piece of Kraft cardstock in what might be years!!!

"Summer Days"

Using a mixture of My Minds Eye Paper, Prima and Hambly.  That is the last of that gorgeous flower Hambly overlay that I have used...sob sob...so sad its now all gone!!

Lots of texture on this layout, the photos don't do it any justice.  The 2Crafty netting chipboard and the title are covered in sparkly Shimmerz.  Love that stuff!

Lots of gorgeous Manor House flowers....

And I was over the moon what Vanessa at 2Crafty sent me this gorgeous little lighthouse.  I outlined the windows and fine details of the lighthouse with a water coloured pencil.  Toned it all down with Gesso and Crackle Paint.  The edges have a thick coating of modelling paste in different places for extra visual interest.

I have then used the Prima brick mask and some ink and randomly and lightly (for a soft effect) added some more layers to the chipboard.

And the adorable 2Crafty Anchor...just perfect for this layout.  All I did here was sprayed it with Denim TA Glimmermist and smeared some gesso in a few places.

And my journaling...as usual, I fill up the whole layout and don't have anywhere suitable to add some journaling so I typed it up and its on the back of my layout.

Looking forward to our next beach holiday in a few weeks!

Hope you get a chance to play along..
Thanks so much for visiting
